According to the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia's stainless steel production totaled around 49,600 tons in the first five months of this year, which increased by 27.4% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, production of stainless steel long products grew by 53.3%, cold-rolled flat products hiked by 8.4%, hot-rolled flat products rose by 20%, and round billet increased by 17%, all compared to the year-ago level.

The association said that the demand for stainless steel products in Russia remained steady, supporting domestic producers’ output growth.
