China’s A00 aluminium ingot price experienced a growth of RMB 50 per tonne on Thursday, November 2, to clock at RMB 19,190 per tonne. The prices have expanded in all the provinces. One of the main reasons for the price hike can be attributed to a significant development in China’s aluminium industry. Yunnan, the fourth largest aluminium-producing region in China, accounts for about 12 per cent of the country’s total capacity, has cut production due to the ongoing dry season. As a result, the supply is less, and the price has increased in all the provinces.

Today, the average prices stand between RMB 19,170 per tonne and RMB 19,210 per tonne. The spot contract price may be traded at a discount price of RMB 100 to RMB 60 per tonne. The Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) revealed that the A00 aluminium ingot price in Gongyi and Foshan has increased by RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,050 per tonne and RMB 19,210 per tonne. On the same day, the domestic aluminium ingot price in Hangzhou, Chongqing and Linyi experienced the same price hike to peg at RMB 19,190 per tonne. In Wuxi, the price has gained RMB 60 per tonne to rest at RMB 19,190 per tonne. Only in Shenyang has the price gone down by RMB 10 per tonne to halt at RMB 19,140 per tonne, and in Tianjin, the price has remained the same at RMB 19,140 per tonne.
