South Korea’s cold-rolled stainless steel imports surge in Oct

According to statistics from the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), South Korea’s cold-rolled stainless steel imports totaled roughly 21,500 tons in October this year, falling by 7.7% compared to the previous month but surging by 397% from the year-ago level.

Among them, the imports of wide strip dropped by 7.3% month on month to 20,700 tons. The source from China accounted for the largest proportion at 47.9%, totaling around 9,900 tons, followed by Taiwan’s 4,300 tons and Vietnam’s 4,000 tons.

In October, the imports of 300 series amounted to approximately 12,000 tons, mainly from China with 5,200 tons; the imports of 400 series were 5,300 tons, primarily from China with 1,900 tons.
