South Korea's Ecopro agreed with an additional investment of US$86 million in a nickel processing plant in Indonesia to expand its nickel supply chain. The nickel processing plant, located at the industrial complex on Sulawesi Island, is operated by China’s Green Eco-Manufacture (GEM).

It is Ecopro’s second phase of investment in QMB, GEM's subsidiary in Indonesia. The specific figures for these two phases of investment weren’t disclosed by Ecopro due to a confidential agreement.

The second investment will equip QMB with the infrastructure to produce 50,000 tons of nickel per year. The current production capacity of the plant is 30,000 tons.
