South Korea's stainless steel exports & imports fall in Jul

According to Customs statistics, South Korea's stainless steel exports totaled around 91,000 tons in July, falling by 9.7% compared to the preceding month and by 13% from the year-ago level. Imports also dropped by 25.4% month on month and by 21.6% year on year to about 61,000 tons. The net export volume was nearly 30,000 tons, a month-on-month hike of 58% and a year-on-year increase of 12%.

In the first seven months of this year, South Korea’s cumulative exports of stainless steel amounted to 624,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.5%; the cumulative import volume was about 593,000 tons, a year-on-year growth of 28%. The net exports fell by 85% year on year to 32,000 tons.
