Spectro Alloys completes phase-one aluminum recycling expansion

Spectro Alloys, a Minnesota-based company operating aluminum recycling plants in the US, has completed construction of a 90,000-square-foot expansion at its Rosemount, Minnesota, campus, after breaking ground in March last year.

The US$71 million project, announced in September 2023, allowed the company to produce billet from post-consumer aluminum scrap, serving industries like automotive, construction, and marine.

The expansion supported the growing demand for recycled aluminum, driven by sustainability goals and supply chain stability.

Phase one was complete, with equipment assembly underway and production set for the second half of this year. Full capacity was expected in the first quarter of 2026, adding 50 new jobs and nearly 120 million pounds of recycling capacity per year.
