The European Commission’s proposal of carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) will be fully implemented from 2026.

It was understood that carbon steel products will be included in the CBAM, while stainless steel, special steel, and pipe products haven’t been included yet.

However, members of the European Parliament have already requested to include some excluded products into the CBAM. For example, the Italian member of Parliament asked the European Commission to include stainless steel into the CBAM so as to support Acciai Speciali Terni.
