It was reported that the demand and prices of nickel were supported by a sufficient production of stainless steel in China; however, there might be an oversupply of approximately 100,000 tons due to better production, especially from China and Indonesia.

According to analysts, stainless steel production was expected to drop greatly due to the COVID-19 epidemic and halted production activities, but some fiscal and monetary stimulus policies in China boosted economic activities, especially in stainless steel-related industries.
