With the rise in prices of major production materials such as LME nickel and Chinese nickel pig iron, the stainless steel market in Taiwan saw a slight increase. Observing the market trend, traders noticed a slight increase in inquiries and the emergence of small buying interest.

LME nickel prices showed stronger upward momentum last week, rising from around US$21,000/ton to around US$23,275/ton last Friday, June 16. This represented an increase of approximately US$2,000/ton in one week, nearly a 10% rise, which has been a rare occurrence in the past few months.
