After failing to reach a negotiation between the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), the Confederation of Vocational Unions (YS), and the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), employees organized in Industri Energi and FLT at Hydro Karmøy and Hydro Årdal started a strike yesterday (April 17).

The operations at the two plants will be gradually affected by the strike. During the strike period, shipping activities at the two sites will be restricted, and the delivery will be delayed accordingly.

If the plants’ aluminum production is reduced, the power used in aluminum manufacturing will be sold in the power market.
