According to Sumitomo Corporation, Japan’s aluminum premium for the October-December quarter was expected to rise to US$90/ton, higher than the US$79 for this quarter (July-September).

The rise in aluminum premium for the October-December quarter was mainly due to returns of industry demand and inventory financing trade, as well as a recovery in aluminum demand from the automotive and construction industry.
