On August 29, Taiwan’s Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance announced a continuation of the suspension regarding the anti-dumping (AD) measure on carbon steel plates from Ukraine for another year, until September 13, 2024, after considering the impact on the country’s overall economic interests.

The Ministry of Finance said that the war between Russia and Ukraine hasn’t ended yet, and Taiwan is also facing shortages of workforce and materials. Therefore, it made the decision to extend the suspension period of the AD order on Ukraine’s carbon steel plates.

According to statistics, during the past one-year suspension period, Ukraine didn’t export carbon steel plates to Taiwan.

The original AD duty rate imposed on Ukraine’s carbon steel plates is 49.29%.
