The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) imposed preliminary anti-dumping (AD) duties on common alloy aluminum sheet imports from 18 counties, including Bahrain, Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Oman, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey. Among them, Taiwan was subject to a rate of 18.2%.

According to C.S. Aluminium Corporation (CSAC), Taiwan’s preliminary AD duty rate is lower than that for the main rivals Indonesia and India, but higher than South Africa, South Korea, and Bahrain’s rate.

Therefore, CSAC is not only carefully studying the future impact but also actively striving for a favorable duty rate in order to reduce the negative impact.

The USDOC planned to announce the final determination for this case on or about February 22, 2021.
