As the Chinese government takes more measures on stabilizing commodity prices, China’s steel export quotations drop as well.

Currently, Chinese cold-rolled steel quotations are quite attractive to Taiwanese buyers. However, there are also rumors saying that China would like to adjust its rebate on cold-rolled steel exports, which meant the country could probably cancel all the 13% tax rebates on cold-rolled products.

Since Chinese suppliers declared frankly in the quotation that once the tax rebate is canceled, the extra cost shall be assumed by the buyer. Therefore, buyers in the Taiwanese market are rather hesitating whether they should buy Chinese materials or not at the moment.
