Taiwan’s main upstream stainless steel mills will announce their new prices for August by this week. It was expected these mills had a high possibility to raise their stainless steel prices for next month as the average price of nickel has remained at US$13,000/above since July despite some fluctuations in the international nickel price caused by tension between the US and China.

However, the downstream purchasers hoped that the price increase will be slight as the overall market demand is still recovering slowly.
