Taiwan’s stainless steel rod exports slide in 2022

According to statistics from Taiwan Customs, Taiwan imported 433 tons of stainless steel rods in December last year, falling by nearly 15% compared to the previous month.

The import sources included India (around 150 tons, a month-on-month drop of 32.4%), South Korea (around 120 tons, a month-on-month increase of 6.3%), and Japan (around 70 tons, a year-on-year hike of 9.2%).

In 2022, Taiwan’s stainless steel rod imports amounted to 11,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.6%.

In terms of exports, Taiwan exported 720 tons of stainless steel rods last December, up by 52.6% month on month. The imports in 2022 amounted to roughly 7,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.2%.
