Taiwan’s stainless steel scrap imports plunge in Apr

According to statistics, Taiwan imported a total of around 23,000 tons of stainless steel scrap in April, plunging by 10.58% compared to the previous month and also significantly dropping by 45.23% from the same month a year ago.

Among the four major sources, the imports from the US and Thailand sharply reduced by more than 40-50%. The sources from Japan went up by 12% and topped the first position, and those from the Netherlands rose the most by nearly 40%.

In the first four months of this year, Taiwan’s stainless steel scrap imports amounted to approximately 94,000 tons, sliding by 27.78% year on year.
