Due to the expected rise in raw material prices, Taiwanese upstream steel pipe prices increased by NT$1,000-1,500/ton for March. In order to offset the raw material price, Taiwanese pipe manufacturers decided to increase prices for downstream end users for March.

Taiwanese pipe mills increased their prices by NT$1,200-1,500/ton for carbon steel pipes and pre hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, and by NT$1,200/ton for galvanized steel pipes.

However, the pipe demand is not good in the current market. Affected by the high raw material costs, upstream steel prices might be hiked further for April. It still has a chance to hike the pipe price for April at the end of March.
