Tata steel said that the corporation received 75,000 tons of coking coal from Russia in May, and it was contracted before they decided to stop Russian business on April 20.

According to the announcement on April 20, Tata Steel has already stopped business with Russia. After this announcement was effective, Tata Steel did not purchase any PCI coal from Russia.

Tata Steel is the first global steel manufacturer to stop business relationships with Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine.

In India, the UK, and the Netherlands, steel mills will find other substitutes for raw materials in order to reduce dependence on Russia.
