Henrik Adam, the chairman of Tata Steel UK, is seeking government subsidies to promote decarbonization at its Port Talbot Steelworks, saying that European competitors have obtained billions of pounds of government subsidies for the transition to more environmentally friendly.

It was understood that UK ministers have provided Tata with 300 million pounds for decarbonization. The government aims to create a decarbonized and competitive future for the steel industry.

According to Green Alliance, an independent think tank, decarbonization is the common mission of the whole steel industry.
