Turkey reduces import duties on cold-rolled stainless steel flat-rolled products to 8%

According to an announcement on the Turkish Official Gazette, Turkey has reduced the import duty on cold-rolled stainless steel flat-rolled products from 12% to 8%, which came into force on January 1, 2022.
The products involved are under HS codes 721931000000, 721932100000, 721932900000, 721933100000, 721933900000, 721934100000, 721934900000, 721935100000, 721935900000, 722020210011, 722020290011, 722020410011, 722020490011, 722020810011, and 722020890011.
Statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that Turkey’s imports of cold-rolled stainless steel flat-rolled products amounted to approximately 275,500 tons in the first 11 months of 2021, of which China was the largest import source, with roughly 94,100 tons, followed by Indonesia’s 40,400 tons, Spain’s 30,600 tons, Taiwan’s 25,900 tons, and Italy’s 19,400 tons.
