According to the data from the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey produced around 3.3 million tons of crude steel in April, which increased by 46.6% compared to the same month a year ago. The consumption of finished steel products during the period was 3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 111.5%.

In the first four months of this year, Turkish crude steel output reached 13.1 million tons, up by nearly 17% year on year. The consumption of finished steel products grew by 30.8% year on year to 1.2 million tons.

Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic last year, the output and consumption base last April was low, which led to a significant increase in the two figures this April.
