Turkey’s stainless steel flat products imports drop in Oct

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s stainless steel flat products imports totaled around 39,000 tons in October, dropping by 4% compared to the previous month and by 18% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, imports from China accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 16,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25%. Indonesia was also a major supplier of stainless steel flat products for Turkey, with a supply of 9,000 tons, down by 24% year on year. The source from South Korea slid by 5% year on year to 4,000 tons.

In the first ten months of this year, Turkey’s imports of stainless steel flat products amounted to 538,000 tons, a year-on-year reduction of 26%.
