According to statistics, Turkey's stainless steel imports totaled 69,600 tons in May this year, increasing by 1.25% compared to the previous month and also growing by 8.9% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from China were around 25,000 tons, down by 24.5% month on month and up by 18.4% year on year; those from Indonesia were about 15,000 tons, surging by 3.4 times month on month and 1.2 times year on year.

Due to China’s epidemic control measures in April and May, Turkey imported much less stainless steel from China and imported from Indonesia to make up for the supply gap.

In 2022, Turkey's stainless steel imports from China account for 42%, 8% higher than the percentage in the previous year.
