Turkish bauxite imports expected to down by 31.87% in 2020

It was expected that Turkish bauxite imports will decrease by 31.87% year on year to around 25,900 tons in 2020, which was the lowest in four years, and the foreign exchange expenditure was predicted to reduce to US$11.6 million.

From 2017 to 2019, Turkey totally imported roughly 11,800 tons of bauxite, with a foreign exchange expenditure of US$46.32 million.

Coupled with the statistics of 2020, Turkish total bauxite imports in 2017-2020 will reach around 143,000 tons, and the cumulative foreign exchange expenditure will be approximately US$57.9 million.

Turkish main bauxite sources included China, India and the Netherlands.
