Ukraine's flat steel products exports soar in Jan-Apr

According to the data published by Ukrmetallurgprom, the Ukrainian Steel Association, in the January-April period of this year, Ukrainian exports of flat steel products soared by 190.1% year on year to about 532,000 tons. Meanwhile, exports of semi-finished steel were 599,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 91.4%.

During the same period, the country's domestic steel products consumption decreased by 13.9% year on year to 1 million tons, of which imports amounted to around 352,000 tons. Ukraine's major export markets are the EU (81.6%), other European countries (5.6%), and South America (4.5%), while Ukraine's major importers of steel are other European countries (44.5%), the EU (37.9%) and Asia (16.7%).
