According to the UK’s Environment Agency, the country’s aluminum packaging recycling rate once again hit a new high in the third quarter. During the period, a total of 39,974 tons of aluminum packaging were recycled, a year-on-year increase of 15%. In the first nine months of this year, the volume of recycled aluminum packaging totaled 121,277 tons, up by 9% compared to the same period a year ago.

Many people believed that the high aluminum packaging recycling rate in 2020 was just a short-term trend due to the COVID-19 epidemic, while this recycling level has continued into 2021, without signs of a slowdown.

If the recycling rate remains high after entering the fourth quarter, the UK’s recycling rate for all aluminum packaging will surpass 70%, and that of aluminum beverage cans will exceed 80% by the end of this year.
