US’ crude steel output in week ending Sep 2 decreases

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on September 2, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.73 million net tons, falling by 0.2% week on week but increasing 1.2% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 76%, a week-on-week decrease of 0.2% and a year-on-year drop of 1.5%.

As of September 2, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 59.84 million net tons, dropping by 1.8% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 76%, decreasing by 3.7% year on year.
