US’ crude steel production climbs

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended October 10, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.5 million short tons, hiking by 1.2% from the same period a week ago while dropping by 16.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 67.9%, rising by 1.3% week on week while going down by 10.1% year on year.

As of the week ended October 10, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 60.95 million short tons this year, a year-on-year decrease of 19.5%. The capacity utilization rate was 66.2%, a year-on-year reduction of 13.9%.
