US’ crude steel production falls

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended February 6, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.71 million short tons, falling by 1.2% from the same period a week ago and also sliding by 7.5% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 75.2%, decreasing by 0.9% week on week and also going down by 6.3% year on year.

As of the week ended February 6, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 9.07 million short tons this year, a year-on-year decrease of 9.3%. The capacity utilization rate was 75.8%, a year-on-year reduction of 6.4%.
