US’ crude steel production hikes

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended August 1, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.33 million short tons, rising by 0.6% from the same period a week ago while dropping by 28.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 59.3%, hiking by 0.4% week on week but going down by 20% year on year.

As of the week ended August 1, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 46.1 million short tons this year, a year-on-year decrease of 19.9%. The capacity utilization rate was 66.2%, a year-on-year reduction of 14.7%.
