US’ crude steel production hikes

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended May 1, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.79 million short tons, hiking by 0.4% from the same period a week ago and also rising by 44.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.7%, increasing by 0.3% week on week and also going up by 23.5% year on year.

As of the week ended May 1, the production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 30.32 million short tons this year, a year-on-year increase of 4%. The capacity utilization rate was 77.4%, a year-on-year hike of 3.8%.
