US’ crude steel production in week ending Oct 26 increase

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending October 26, 2024, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.66 million net tons, increasing by 1.8% from the same period a week ago and slightly dropping by 0.2% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 74.7%, up by 1.3% week on week and by 2.3% year on year.

As of the week ending October 26, 2024, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 72.729 million short tons, sliding by 1.7% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.4%, keeping flat year on year.
