According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended May 15, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.8 million short tons, hiking by 1.4% from the same period a week ago and also rising by 47.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 79.2%, increasing by 1.1% week on week and going up by 24.6% year on year.
As of the week ended May 15, the production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 33.89 million short tons this year, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. The capacity utilization rate was 77.5%, a year-on-year hike of 7.6%.
