US’ crude steel production up

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended November 14th, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.58 million short tons, going up by 0.4% from the same period a week ago while dropping by 13.3% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 71.4%, compared to 71.1% last week and 78.8% last year.

As of the week ended November 14th, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 68.96 million short tons this year, compared to 84.8 million tons in the same period last year. The capacity utilization rate was 66.9%, compared to 80% year on year.
