US’ hot-rolled steel bar exports increase in Feb

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 33,000 tons of hot-rolled steel bars in February this year, decreasing by 8.7% compared to the previous month and rising by 8.6% from the same month a year earlier.

Among them, the exports to Mexico accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 17,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 16.4% and a year-on-year hike of 10.7%. Canada ranked second with roughly 14,500 tons, and the exports to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.

During the period, the export value totaled nearly US$54 million, down by 7.5% month on month and up by 4.1% year on year.
