US’ hot-rolled steel bar exports slide in Dec 2020

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 28,500 tons of hot-rolled steel bar in December 2020, dropping by 1.2% compared to the previous month while rising by nearly 19% from the same month a year earlier.

Among them, the exports to Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 15,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 12.1% and a year-on-year hike of 50.6%. Mexico ranked second with roughly 11,800 tons, followed by the Dominican Republic with around 1,100 tons. The exports to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.
