Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, reaching around 28,900 tons, a month-on-month increase of 1.24% and a year-on-year growth of 23.7%. Other import sources included Japan, France, Mexico, and Germany, with a separate volume of around 12,100 tons, 8,800 tons, 4,700 tons, and 2,500 tons.
According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported a total of around 62,900 tons of hot-rolled steel bar in August, increasing by 3.1% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 67.3% from the same month a year ago.
During the period, the import value was around US$73 million, up by 8.4% month on month and surging by 127.2% year on year.
