Due to tight supply, the US' hot-rolled coil (HRC) domestic price kept hiking and broke the record.

The delivery is in July or August. Even steel mills have a new production capacity in the next half of this year, the shortage supply will not be solved. The situation might last till next year.

In addition, galvanized steel coil prices have also increased for five consecutive months and the prices came to a new high, approaching US$1,800/ton.

However, the galvanized steel coil supply is also in shortage, and the shortage problem is even more serious than high prices. Moreover, buyers worried a lot about the material arrival because the delivery is long.

The prices of galvanized coils will increase further in July. According to understanding, market participants expected the high price might be supported due to the current low stock.
