The US’ annual production capacity of primary aluminum is 1.76 million tons, of which Alcoa has 820,000 tons per year, Century Aluminum has 690,000 tons per year, and Magnitude 7 Metals has 250,000 tons per year.

According to statistics released by the Aluminum Association, the US’ primary aluminum production totaled around 75,400 tons in July this year, dropping by 9.4% compared to the same month a year ago. The production in the first seven months of this year amounted to 521,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.7%.

The US’ operating capacity of primary aluminum has been maintained at the level of around 900,000 tons per year since this year. One of Alcoa's two running aluminum plants is still being operated at low capacity, and one of Century Aluminum’s plants has resumed slowly due to supply chain interference.
