US’ rebar imports rise in Mar

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 128,000 tons of rebar in March, rising by 65.6% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 78% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Turkey accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 31,200 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 42.4% and a year-on-year increase of 57.8%. Other import sources included Algeria (around 27,400 tons), Spain (around 27,200 tons), Mexico (around 21,000 tons), and the Dominican Republic (around 12,800 tons).

During the period, the import value totaled nearly US$70 million, up by 87.9% and 93.6% year on year.
