US Secretary of Commerce: Trump's tariffs on steel and aluminum save US jobs

US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said that the last president Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum products helped save jobs in the US. She believed that the tariffs are conducive to fair competition.

The last US government imposed 25% import tariffs on steel and 10% on aluminum products from most countries in 2018. Gina Raimondo pointed out that the tariffs maintained a healthy environment for the local industry and protected the US’ national security.
