US’ steel imports decrease in Oct

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, in October, the US steel imports slightly decreased by 0.3% month on month and dropped by 9.7% year on year to about 1.98 million tons. Meanwhile, the US steel import value totaled US$2.7 billion, increasing by 10.4% month on month but falling by 18.7% year on year.

Among them, the main import sources were Canada (about 505,000 tons), Mexico (about 280,008 tons), South Korea (about 151,000 tons), Japan (about 122,000 tons), and Germany (about 113,000 tons).
