Vedanta Aluminium, the largest aluminum producer in India, recycled 12.5 billion liters of water as of February during the fiscal year 2022-23.

A groundbreaking ceremony for a new Sewage Treatment Plant with a daily processing capacity of 440 kiloliters was held at its aluminum smelter in Jharsuguda. After the plant is put into operation, the water treated by the facility will be reused within the plant, which can reduce 15 crore liters of water consumption each year.

Vedanta Aluminium has succeeded in achieving steady improvements in water resource management by deploying a strategic combination of resource conservation and source rejuvenation programs.
