Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, raised the price of 300 series stainless steel wire rod by NT$1,500/ton for May. 200 series and 400 series prices were kept unchanged, and the price for grade 316 will take individual negotiation ways.

Walsin Lihwa said the stainless steel production cost was pushed up by the rising LME nickel price and the rebound in chromium and ferromolybdenum prices. However, the current end demand hasn’t entirely recovered, so the company only moderately hiked prices to reflect part of production costs.
