Walsin Lihwa, one of the leading stainless steel wire rod manufacturers in Taiwan, announced to raise its new prices for stainless steel wire rods again for November.

For domestic sales, the price of 304 was up by NT$1,500/ton, and 316L was hiked by NT$5,000/ton. For export sales, 304 and 316L products will be subject to a price increase of US$50/ton and US$150/ton, respectively. The prices for residual steel grades remained flat.

Walsin Lihwa said that the production costs kept increasing due to the increasing prices of raw materials, such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and stainless steel scrap, as well as the depreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar.

However, the overall market demand hasn’t stabilized, so the company only did appropriate price adjustments to reflect costs in order to maintain the international competitiveness of the downstream industry.
