WBMS: Global primary aluminum market in short supply of fewer than 1,000 tons in Jan-Feb 2021

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global primary aluminum market was in a short supply of fewer than 1,000 tons from January to February, compared to an oversupply of 840,000 tons in 2020.

In the first two months of this year, the global primary aluminum demand was 11.32 million tons, increasing by 8.2% from the same period in 2020.

During the same period, the global primary aluminum production had a year-on-year increase of 6%, of which China accounted for 57% of the global total output, with around 6.45 million tons.
