AM/NS India invests $7.4 billion in capacity expansion

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a leading integrated flat carbon steel producer in India, planned to spend US$7.4 billion to expand its upstream and downstream steel production capacity, iron ore capability, and increase the added value of its products.

The expansion plan included increasing the upstream capacity of its Hazira plant to 15 million tons per year by early 2026.

In the first quarter of this year, the company's crude steel output was 1.76 million tons, a month-on-month increase of nearly 9%; shipments were 1.83 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 15%.
