ArcelorMittal Brazil & Casa dos Vento to jointly develop wind power project

ArcelorMittal Brazil and Casa dos Ventos, one of the largest developers and producers of renewable energy projects in Brazil, will jointly develop a 554 MW Babilonia wind power project in the central region of Bahia, northeast Brazil. It will be put into operation in 2025.

The worth of the cooperation was estimated at US$800 million. The project could fulfill 38% of ArcelorMittal Brazil’s total electricity needs in 2030 and further improve its decarbonization.
