The Spanish subsidiary of ArcelorMittal said that the market demand is gradually recovering and ArcelorMittal expected to increase its steel production by approximately 70,000 tons per month at its Spanish Sestao steel plant in the second quarter.

ArcelorMittal Sestao's electric arc furnace was restarted in September 2020. The operation was suspended in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initial goal of production capacity was to reach 40,000 tons per month, and now the production will follow the previous target to reach 45,000 tons per month.
